Last year, my (then) 6-year-old daughter started showing interest in playing the piano. I wanted to see if she was really serious before I started her in regular lessons, so I decided to see if there were any good free resources online to start her out on. That’s when I found Hoffman Academy – Online Piano Lessons for Free. (And yes, it is free.)
We found that we both really liked the videos! They are fun to watch and easy to follow along with. She started a little over a year ago and she is definitely doing well with this program.
You do have the option of buying material for the lessons, but I have never done so. I find that my daughter is learning enough currently without purchasing the extras.
I think this online resource is a great option for those who (1) are curious if their child will actually stick with playing piano or (2) if lessons are not in the your budget at this time.
