This is a great way to help others, take advantage of the deals on canned goods this month and see a movie or two for almost nothing! Bring 5 cans for one movie on the 5th, or bring 15 cans to watch a movie on the 5th and on a future visit.
The past several years, as the effects of the economy has finally trickled into the Lake of the Ozarks area, the number of new faces walking into Pat Woodward’s office at the Lamb House has increased. By Woodward’s estimates, the number of new people asking for help for the very first time has grown by 50 percent each year.
They are humiliated, humbled, sad and angry, Woodward describes. The Lamb House is their last hope before they are kicked out of their apartments, the heat is turned off, they go too many days without food, or they wait too long to fill their medical prescriptions… READ ENTIRE ARTICLE
Here is a great chance to spread Christmas love this year through giving!
I am sure many of us have extra in our stockpiles that we wouldn’t even miss. Or you could pick up something extra while you are out shopping next time. I am sure even the smallest item would help!
Lamb House is opened from 9:30am to 1:00pm M-F and 9:00am-12:00pm Saturday. They take any non-perishable food item as well as toiletries, laundry products.

Ok, I know you really don’t want to see the word “Christmas” during the middle of September, but believe me this is a better time then any to start thinking about it & getting ready!
Target has just clearanced their $1 section to 75% off (I know the sign reads 50% above, but they had just reduced the prices when I had gotten there), so everything is only $0.30. Why this is so cool – The items in this section are perfect gifts for the Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes! Operation Christmas Child is a project set up by the Samaritan’s Purse. They deliver gifts (in shoe boxes) to children across the globe in need.
I was so excited to be able to stock up on items for these boxes and it was perfect timing too, because I received a letter from Samaritan’s Purse today reminding me about this program!
What’s better than saving 75% on items you & your family can use?
